Gerard is a Partner at New & Improved and a Professor and Director at the Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State College. In addition to his teaching and advisement of undergraduate and graduate students, Gerard works as a trainer, facilitator and consultant for many organizations in the area of creative thinking, creative problem solving, facilitation and leadership.
Some of the organizations to benefit from his training and facilitation include: American Axle & Manufacturing, the Atomic Energy Authority (UK), AT&T, Bull, Dunlop, General Motors, Nabisco, Procter & Gamble, Wilson Greatbatch, and numerous school districts. He has worked throughout the US and Europe.
Gerard has written many articles, chapters, and books, and has had his work published in publications such as the British Journal of Educational Psychology, the Journal of Creative Behavior, Psychological Reports, the Creativity Research Journal, and the Creativity and Innovation Yearbook.
Gerard is the creator of the FourSight Breakthrough Thinker Profile and is certified to administer the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator and the Kirton Adaption–Innovation Inventory.
An avid golfer, Gerard lives with his wife and two young sons who challenge his creativity on a daily basis.
